FAQ
Everything guests ask before booking a direct stay in Naoussa, Paros — getting here, the village, the suites, and how direct booking works.
Are there self-catering apartments in the centre of Naoussa, Paros?
Yes. Alkistis is a small, family-run apart-hotel of bright Cycladic apartments in the heart of Naoussa, Paros. Each one is fully self-catering with its own kitchen, air-conditioning and a private entrance — and you are about an 8-minute walk from the Old Venetian Harbour.
Is it cheaper to book direct than on Booking.com or Airbnb?
Yes. Booking directly with us means no OTA commission, so we can offer our best rate — and you deal with the family who run the apartments, not a marketplace call-centre. If your plans change, every request is handled personally.
How far is Alkistis from the Old Venetian Harbour and the town beach?
About an 8-minute walk to the Old Venetian Harbour, the heart of Naoussa's tavernas and cafés. Naoussa's town beach (Piperi) is also a short walk away, roughly a few minutes on foot from the apartments.
Is Naoussa Paros family-friendly?
Yes — Naoussa is one of the most family-friendly villages in the Cyclades. It is walkable, pedestrian-only in the old town, and Naoussa's shallow town beach (Piperi) is a short walk from the centre, with more sheltered beaches a short boat ride across the bay. Our self-catering apartments suit families well: full kitchens, plenty of space and a central, quiet base in the heart of the village.
How do I get from Athens to Paros?
Two options: by ferry from Piraeus (3–4 hours on the high-speed catamaran, 5 hours on the conventional ferry) or by 40-minute flight from Athens International Airport to Paros National Airport (PAS). Ferries run year-round, flights mainly April–October.
What is the best month to visit Paros with kids?
Late May to mid-June and September are the sweet spots: warm enough to swim (sea ~22-25°C), quieter than peak July-August, and most attractions are operational. Avoid August if you can — it is the busiest, hottest, and most expensive month, especially around the August 23rd Naoussa feast.
Do I need a car when staying in Naoussa?
Not for Naoussa itself — the village is walkable, with tavernas, cafés and shops on the doorstep. Seasonal water taxis from the Old Venetian Harbour cross the bay to Kolymbithres, Monastiri and Lageri (roughly May–October). A car or scooter is only useful for a day or two to reach Lefkes village, the marble quarries of Marathi, or the Antiparos ferry crossing at Pounta. We can point you to a local rental on request.
What is there to do near Naoussa for a 7-day stay?
A full week lets you combine the highlights: a few beach days between Naoussa's town beach, Kolymbithres and Monastiri across the bay; one Antiparos day trip (ferry + Cave of Antiparos + Soros beach); one inland day to Lefkes village and the Byzantine Way; a half-day at Moraitis or Boutari winery; and a Paros Park walk. See our things-to-do guide for a suggested itinerary.
How do I get from Paros airport or Parikia port to Naoussa?
From Paros National Airport (PAS) it is about 19–20 km, roughly a 20–30 minute taxi or transfer to Naoussa. From Parikia ferry port it is about 10 km, roughly 15 minutes by taxi. The KTEL bus also runs, indirectly via Parikia (airport → Parikia → Naoussa, about 1h30, around €5). Tell us your arrival details and we can point you in the right direction.
Can I cancel or change my direct booking?
Yes — the exact cancellation terms depend on the rate and season you choose, and they are shown clearly at checkout before you pay anything. Because you book directly with us, you deal with the property — not a marketplace call-centre — if your plans change.
Are pets welcome?
Small dogs may be welcome on request — please ask us when you book so we can confirm for your dates and apartment, and share a list of dog-friendly tavernas in the village. Larger dogs cannot usually be accommodated due to the size of the apartments.
Is Alkistis good for couples wanting a quiet, romantic stay?
Very. Alkistis is a small, family-run apart-hotel — just a handful of self-catering apartments — so it stays quiet and personal by design. Each has its own private entrance or terrace, and you are a short walk from Naoussa's harbour and tavernas. We welcome families too, so it is not strictly adults-only, but the small scale keeps it calm and personal. It is the walk-to-the-harbour alternative to a big resort hotel.
Do the apartments have a kitchen?
Yes — every apartment is fully self-catering, with a kitchen or kitchenette (fridge, hob, kettle, cookware and crockery), so breakfast stays easy and you can eat in whenever you like. Naoussa's bakeries, supermarkets and tavernas are a short walk away, and each apartment has air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi and a private entrance or terrace.
Is it better to stay in Naoussa or Parikia in Paros?
Both work. Parikia is the main port and the most connected for ferries, while Naoussa is the prettier, walkable harbour village — tavernas and cafés on the doorstep, the town beach a short walk, and more beaches across the bay by boat. Alkistis sits central yet quiet, so you are in the middle of it all but away from the late-night strip.
How do I get from Naoussa to Kolymbithres beach?
Kolymbithres is about 5 minutes by car, or a short water-taxi across the bay from the Old Venetian Harbour dock (around a 10-minute crossing). No car is needed — the seasonal boats run regularly through the summer.
How much is the water taxi from Naoussa, and where does it leave from?
Water taxis leave from the Old Venetian Harbour dock for Kolymbithres, Monastiri and Lageri — a crossing of roughly 10 minutes, typically a few euros each way, running about May to October. They go on regular seasonal departures through the day rather than a fixed clock timetable.
Which apartment is best for a large family or group?
The Deluxe Two-Bedroom and the Family apartment sleep up to 4–5 guests, each with a full kitchen and a private terrace — ideal for families or small groups who want self-catering space right in the centre of the village.
Is breakfast included?
There is no breakfast service — every apartment is self-catering with its own full kitchen, so you can make breakfast whenever you like. Naoussa's bakeries, supermarkets and tavernas are all a short walk away in the village.
Is there parking near the apartments in Naoussa?
Naoussa's old town is largely pedestrian, so cars stay at the edge of the village. There are public parking areas a short walk away on the Santa Maria road, and a car is really only useful for day trips. Tell us your plans and we are happy to advise.
Is it still warm in Paros in September or October?
Yes — September averages around 24°C with the sea still about 22–25°C, and early October stays around 21–23°C with the sea near 21–22°C. You get warm swimming weather with fewer crowds, and most tavernas are still open.
Can I book a weekly or monthly long stay?
Yes. With full kitchens, air-conditioning and a central base in the village, the apartments work well for weekly and monthly stays. Get in touch for long-stay rates.
Can you do a day trip to Antiparos and Despotiko from Naoussa?
Yes — a kaiki cruise can reach Antiparos, the Despotiko archaeological site and the Panteronisia "blue lagoon" swim stops, all easy from your central, self-catering base in Naoussa. We can point you to the right boat for your dates.
